Handmade Again, Just Like The Beginning

by Anna Llewellyn-Jones on Nov 27, 2025
Full Circle Moment Radish & Pear was born out of the world of handmade, a crazy FIVE years ago. It began with £50 in my account, and a lockdown that gave endless free time to delve into whatever project I wished. So, I bought some polymer clay online, some jewellery findings such as hooks and Huggies, and spent countless hours glued to YouTube, trying over and over and over, to find the best techniques, how to create the best colours and colour ways, where do I source the best cutters? and so on. It was the best and most exciting experience ever for me, that's why I HAD to revive my love for it... One-Of-A-Kind Collection So now, a good 3 years after I stopped hand-making my products, Radish & Pear handmade is back in a one-of-a-kind limited collection! We are BACK! We're like, so back! I feel like this is a full circle moment; handmade was where Radish & Pear began, and bringing it back now feels intentional, emotional, and if I'm honest a little bit terrifying! What I've always wanted to do for you all at Radish & Pear, is create a world for you. And we've had many: Taylor Swift, Alice In Wonderland, Celestial, Queen's Gambit (my favourite collection of all time, I had to source chess piece cutters from Sweden!), Devil Wears Prada (where I made everything floral, IYKYK), and so so many more.  Night & Day This theme I've chosen is 'Night & Day'. The idea was to reflect two moods (I didn't have enough patience to create 5 colours palettes for my 5 different personalities HA) by creating two palettes, where two sides of our personality could meet. It grew from hours of sketching, colour testing, building mood boards, making then taking apart and remaking until it felt exactly ‘Radish & Pear’... I chose materials that were in line with the feel and quality of Radish & Pear: playful, elegant and fun. I sourced 925 sterling silver and 18k gold plated clasps and jump rings, and real freshwater pearls. I will never compromise on quality, EVER.  The coloured pearls are often mistaken for glass or imitation, but they are genuine freshwater pearls. Their colour comes from careful dyeing, a common and traditional process that allows pearls to take on dreamy, unexpected shades while still keeping their natural lustre, texture and individuality. Each one is slightly different, which is part of what makes them so special! The DAY 🧡 pieces are a daydream of our signature Radish and Pear colours, motifs such as florals, shells…and I was also inspired by the sign ‘Daylight’ by Taylor Swift, go play it and that’s the vibe I wanted these pieces to give!  The 'Night' pieces unfold in gorgeous lilacs and deep blues. I wanted celestial but al It’s inspired by your favourite pieces such as the Dreamcatcher Stars and Life On Mars! It's celestial vibe, it's magical, it's that cosy feeling you get at night when you look at the stars. UGH. I LOVE it.Every shade has been meticulously chosen, each piece genuinely designed with you in mind, and me picturing you wearing it… I even had some specific loyal customers in mind as a base line of inspiration ‘would so and so wear this?’ If yes, then I stick with it! I want you to feel special in these and I want it to feel magical from the moment you wear it  This is a one-of-a-kind, limited handmade jewellery collection, and once it’s gone, it really is gone!!!   Here are a few photos of me matching up my finished products to my mood boards I'd created. I'm actually super proud of how well I kept to it!  Look at those blues, in the words of Taylor Swift 'catastrophic bluessssss'  A sneak peek at one of our Daisy necklaces! I'm obsessed with how they all look together... Erm, how dreamy? Our beautiful bracelets, I'm now fully back being a bracelet girlie...  drippppppping in pearls! Our Blue Dreamstar Necklace - aAHHH!! Daisy Necklace... Our Sunbeam Shell Necklace is a dreaaaaaam!! If you've got this far, THANK YOU. This collection means more to me than I can put into words. Thank you for being here, for supporting Radish & Pear, and for allowing me to keep creating worlds for you. I can’t wait to see how you wear Night & Day. Love, Anna xoxoxo

Our Biggest Launch in 2 Years: 4 New Whimsical Jewellery Collections

by Anna Llewellyn-Jones on Jul 29, 2025
🌟 Our Biggest Launch Yet: 4 New Whimsical Jewellery Collections in 925 Sterling Silver & Gold Plating Last week marked our biggest Radish & Pear launch in nearly two years—and I don’t say that lightly. This one felt different. More intentional, more joyful, and deeply me. After a long period of feeling pulled in too many directions, I made the decision to simplify. To scale back the quantityof pieces and pour all my energy into what Radish & Pear has always stood for: meaningful, playful, story-led designmade with care. Instead of releasing dozens of new items, I slowed down. I researched and explored dreamy themes, just like in the early Radish & Pear days—taking them very literally, which is what makes each piece so fun and full of character. Every collection in this launch has been carefully designed from scratch, made using high-quality 925 sterling silver, with either real 18k gold plating or rhodium plating for lasting shine, durability, and comfort on sensitive skin. We’ve returned to the magic that is Radish & Pear. Let’s dive in (pun very much intended) 🐚👇 🐚 Under the Sea Collection – Ocean-Inspired Jewellery This collection was born from my lifelong love of the ocean—and a very real desire to become a mermaid. The Under the Sea Collection is filled with playful, beachy jewelry inspired by seashells, rippling waves, pearl drops, and the shimmer of sunlit saltwater. Each piece is a tiny treasure, designed to make you feel like you’ve just returned from a magical coastal adventure. You’ll find: 925 sterling silver seashell earrings 18k gold-plated seahorses that feel like ocean bubbles Starfish earrings and shell charms that glint like sunlight on water Perfect for layering or wearing solo, these ocean-inspired pieces bring that “just got back from the sea” glow to your everyday look—no sand in your shoes required. 🌸 Enchanted Garden Collection – Nature-Inspired Jewellery Step into the enchanted garden of your daydreams, where wildflowers bloom, mushrooms glisten with morning dew, and tiny fairytale creatures peek out from leafy vines. The Enchanted Garden Collection celebrates the soft, romantic side of nature. These pieces are delicate, whimsical, and a little bit witchy. Expect: Cute daffodil earrings and butterflies in rhodium-plated sterling silver Tiny mushroom charms for your inner forest fairy Gold-plated frogs!! This is jewellery inspired by nature, but reimagined through a Radish & Pear lens—where every flower has a story and every petal holds a little magic. 🌙 Celestial Collection – Star & Moon Jewellery For the stargazers, moon-chasers, and astrology lovers—this one’s for you.The Celestial Collection is made of minimalist cosmic jewellery that’s still full of sparkle. I wanted to bottle the feeling of looking up at a clear night sky and realizing how small, yet connected, we all are. In this dreamy drop you’ll find: Gold-plated crescent moon earrings Sterling silver star-studded earrings Constellation necklaces that feel like quiet spells Each piece is hypoallergenic, long-wearing, and made with rhodium or 18k gold plating for that soft, glowing finish. They're perfect as sentimental gifts or everyday pieces that whisper instead of shout. 🍐 Signature Pear Collection – Timeless, Vintage-Inspired Jewellery   This collection is pure Radish & Pear. The Signature Pear Collection was designed entirely from scratch—a love letter to the brand’s origin story and everything it’s grown into. Each pear piece is vintage-inspired, timeless, and made to be worn forever. It’s playful but elegant, designed to stand out gently. In this capsule you’ll discover: Sterling silver pear pendants 18k gold-plated pear earrings with a soft, sculptural finish Signature pear rings that are understated but full of character These are signature Radish & Pear pieces—bold in concept, minimal in form, and full of heart. 💫 Why We’re Keeping It Small (On Purpose) Even with four fresh new collections, you’ll notice fewer pieces overall—and that’s fully intentional.I didn’t want this launch to be about quantity. I wanted to create slow, meaningful, well-crafted jewellery using only the best materials: 925 sterling silver, known for its longevity and hypoallergenic properties 18k gold plating, for warmth and richness Rhodium plating, for tarnish resistance and a cooler silver shine We’ve returned to the roots of Radish & Pear: storytelling through design, small-batch releases, and super unique jewellery that actually means something. 🌊 Ready to Dive In? Whether you're drawn to the ocean’s mystery, the garden’s softness, the sky’s wonder, or the pear’s quiet charm—there’s something in this launch for you. These pieces were made slowly, intentionally, and with love. I hope you feel that when you wear them. Thank you for being here—and for believing in the magic of Radish & Pear 🐚💖

The story, behind Radish & Pear, her design inspirations, the brand's creative journey, and exciting plans for the future. A must-read...   What inspired you to start Radish & Pear, and how did you come up with the name? Is there a story behind it? Radish & Pear was a lockdown baby. Hehe. I was cooped up in my house, just like everyone else at that time, and I decided to create things to lift my own morale in the way I have since I was a child - by creating.  I painted, sketched, and then I started to sew... and this is where it all began. I ordered Liberty London fabric and began to sew face masks. I initially sold them on my personal instagram, and when friends of friends began getting in touch for masks, I decided to make a separate page.  At the time, our family dog Radish, a gorgeous jack Russell terrier, was in lockdown with us! He was my absolute world and, along with me being super sentimental about everything (which my followers know from the meanings I attach to each piece I create) I, naturally, wanted to name my brand after him. I always wanted it to be Radish and 'something' and the first thing that came to my head was and ‘Pear’ was the first thing that came to mind—it just fit! It’s funny: one of the most common comments I hear at markets is about how much people love the name, its playful and unexpected pairing. Those reactions always mean so much to me. Can you walk us through your design process? Where do you find inspiration, and how do your ideas evolve into finished pieces? Since I don’t come from a traditional design background, my creative process is wonderfully old-school and ‘free-flowing.’ I sketch everything by hand, letting my ideas take shape on paper without following the conventional ‘do’s and don’ts’ of jewellery design. I don’t believe art should be bound by rules, and I think this freedom is what makes my designs so unique. I find inspiration in anything that moves me. The latest Daydreamer Collection, a favourite with our R&P community, was inspired by my love for all things mystical: clouds, rainbows, hearts (symbolising love), and, of course, pears! Clouds have been a staple design in Radish & Pear since it began in 2020! Does Radish & Pear follow current jewellery trends, or do you take a different approach to ensure each piece stays unique and true to your brand's vision? I'm definitely aware of trends in the jewellery industry, but I don’t like to focus on them too heavily. I believe it’s important to stay true to what makes Radish & Pear unique—designs that are a little different, a little unexpected. If we simply followed trends, we wouldn’t be staying true to our roots, and we’d lose what sets us apart. Radish & Pear is about embracing individuality, and it’s this commitment to creating something different that makes the brand stand out Where do you see Radish & Pear heading in the future? Are there any exciting goals or plans you’d like to share? I absolutely see Radish & Pear in multiple stores across the UK—that’s the next big step, goal, and dream for the brand. Honestly, if I’m being completely honest, I have a million dreams for Radish & Pear, but I want to take things one step at a time. My focus is on making sure we grow at a healthy pace, without rushing. It’s about building the foundation right so we can continue to thrive in the long run. I hope to keep on making jewellery that makes people feel amazing for a long time to come.  Any words of encouragement for those wanting to embark on their own business journey? Don’t be afraid of failure—it’s going to happen more times than you can count, and I hate to break it to you, but that’s okay. Failure doesn’t mean anything, if that makes sense. It doesn’t mean you should give up or that you're a terrible business owner. It just means you're human, and you’re learning and growing. This industry is tough, and you need that mindset to keep going, to pick yourself up and start again. It’s a cliché, but it’s true: I’ve learned so much from my mistakes, both in business and in my personal life. It’s all part of the journey, and it’s what shapes you in the end.
